Govt to ensure internet services at schools and colleges

The government has initiated ensuring internet services for the students of every school and college of the country. Tele Communication minister Rajiuddin Ahmed Raju, Tuesday at a national seminar on information sharing said, that the same service will be made available for union level people also.

No new mobile operators for now

No new mobile operators will be allowed for the time being, telecommunications minister Rajiuddin Ahmed Raju told parliament on Wednesday. "There are currently six operators serving the country. No new operators will get licences," the minister told a question-answer session. "However, features and facilities of state-run Teletalk will be developed so that it can become the number one mobile operator in the country," he said.

Free internet service for schools, colleges planned

Telecommunications minister Rajiuddin Ahmed Raju said yesterday that the government planned to provide internet service to all schools, colleges, universities and most of government organisations free of cost to build a digital Bangladesh by 2021.
