2 lawyers acquitted in sedition case

A Dhaka Court on Wednesday acquitted two Supreme Court lawyers in connection with a case filed against them on charges of vandalism on the SC premises on November 30, 2006. The acquittals -- Subrata Chowdhury and Sheikh Awsafur Rahman -- were present during the delivery of judgment.

SQ Chy gets bail

The High Court on Sunday granted an anticipatory bail for two months to BNP lawmaker Salauddin Quader Chowdhury in a sedition case. After hearing a petition filed by SQ Chowdhury, the HC also issued a rule upon the government to show cause why he should not be granted regular bail in this case.
