Menace-bus

Most of the bus drivers in Dhaka are virtually blind because they manoeuvre their vehicles through traffic using verbal directions given by the helpers. If a driver hits a pedestrian he may not know the extent of the damage, as he is often too callous and cowardly to stop and find out. And sometimes the passengers actually help these drivers get away with a hit-and-run. That is precisely what happened when bus driver Shamsur Rahman killed a five-year-old boy in the capital yesterday.
