Hasina, Khaleda to vow to fight poverty together
Thu October 15, 2009 - 2:58pm BdSTA new chapter is going to be written Saturday in Bangladesh’s political history when two archrivals —the prime minister, Sheikh Hasina, and the leader of the opposition in parliament, Khaleda Zia — would vow together unison from the same dais to fight poverty. Hasina, the ruling Awami League president, and Khaleda, the main opposition BNP chairperson, have agreed to attend the anti-poverty rally at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre at 3:00pm on the day, transcending their usual bitter political animosities.
