Govt official shot in broad daylight

A senior government official was shot and seriously injured allegedly by two hired killers in broad daylight in city's Farmgate area in front of Tejgaon Police Station yesterday. Engineer Fazle Rabbi Morshed Munshi, Executive Engineer of the Department of Family Planning received two bullets in his back shoulder, said Officer in-Charge of Tejgaon Police Station Mahbubur Rahman. He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) in a critical condition.

UP chairman who shot into crowd arrested

The Detective Branch (DB) of Police today arrested runaway Sultanganj Union Parishad chairman Monir Hossain who shot into a crowd of angry protesters at Ashrafabad in Kamrangirchar on June 9, killing one and injuring two others.
