Speaker Abdul Hamid Advocate Tuesday took on the role of a judge of power politics as he weighed Awami League and BNP both on the same scales in respect of naming the names of institutions after pious persons while in power.
Speaker Abdul Hamid Advocate yesterday said that he had threatened to resign to intimidate the lawmakers who used unparliamentarily words to hit their opponents. "I am not going to resign. I told the House that I am going to resign just to warn lawmakers to refrain them from trading filthy worlds," he said while talking to reporters following inauguration of an Art Competition at Sangsad premises to mark the Commonwealth Day.
