Padma Bridge Tender documents placed with donors, cost rises to $2.4 bn

The government is going to float tender for construction of the much-awaited Padma Bridge soon, as ministers in a coordination meeting Sunday placed the tender documents with the donors. "We will float the tender as soon as possible," Communications Minister Syed Abul Hossain said after the coordination meeting in the NEC conference room.

Criminals yesterday beat up officials of two companies, who went to bid for a tender at Dhaka Power Distribution Company office at Paribagh, and got away with their bid documents. Sources claimed the incident happened before inactive policemen.
