Hundreds of vehicles remained stranded on the both ends of Meghna Bridge on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway due to restriction on traffic to facilitate bridge repair work.

The authorities blocked one lane of the bridge from November 5 to conduct emergency expansion joint, and have been allowing only buses and goods-laden trucks to cross the bridge on the busy road.
