Privatising commercial activities of BPC under consideration

The government plans to privatise the commercial activities of Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation (BPC), chairman of the corporation said when the country's revenue from tourism declined last year due to floods and cyclone Sidr.

Muqtadir's solo exhibition at the Bengal gallery

Abdul Muqtadir’s exhibition is currently going on at the Bengal Gallery. The event is his eighth solo art exhibition till date. The heart-felt emotions are clearly understandable through over 100 artwork on display at the gallery.

The exhibition will be open for all from 12 till 5pm daily until March 17

Second Manabadhikar Natya Utsab begins

This year the United Nations is observing the 60th anniversary of

Universal Declaration of Human Rights. On the occasion, 'Manabadhikar Natya Parishad' (MNP) in collaboration with 'Ain O Shalish Kendra' (ASK) arranged the three-day long 2nd Manabadhikar Natya Utsab at Rabindra Sarobar on March 9. Twenty member theatre troupes of MNP from all over the country are participating at the festival.

Saying 'No' to corruption on International Women's Day

To mark the International Women's Day as well as to generate awareness against corruption, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) and Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) jointly arranged a concert at the Gulshan Youth Club on March 8. Slogans included “Stand up for Women's Rights” and “Anti Corruption Movement and Women's Rights Movement hand in hand now”.
