The four-day Textech Bangladesh 2009 will begin in the city on Thursday, showcasing the latest versions of textile technologies.
Top executives of the CEMS, organiser of the expositions, told journalists at a press conference on Monday that the exhibitions would bring worldwide technology, machinery and material manufacturers at the doorsteps of the manufacturers of Bangladesh under one roof,’ said Meherun N Islam, president of the CEMS Group.
The expositions will be held at the Bangladesh China Friendship Conference Centre in the city and more than 350 Exhibitors from over 15 countries will participate there. Business delegations from India and China will also visit the exhibitions, Ms Islam told journalists. With textile and garment technology, machinery and related services, Textech, the biggest annual exposition by CEMS, provides a platform for the global exhibitors to interact directly with the Bangladeshi buyers.
The Die+Chem focuses on the textile chemicals and dyes, MachinExpo focuses on manufacturing equipments while the Yarn and Fabric Show mainly showcases the main raw materials for the garment manufacturers. TEXPROCIL — Cotton Textiles Export Promotion Council - India will also organise the Indian Cotton Yarn and Fabric Show 2009 at the same venue that roofs the Texetch.
Ms Islam said that CEMS had been organizing the Textech since 10 years now as there was a need for such exhibition to display the latest technology as Bangladesh’s industry could upgrade its capacity to compete in the world Market. ‘The [textile] industry of Bangladesh has the key position in the export sector so we keep in mind the potential of this sector and to further boost the exports,’ she added.
‘Despite competition in the world market is intensifying, industries in Bangladesh are capable in expanding their share there, said chief of the country’s pioneering industrial exposition management company. At the same time Bangladesh can attract more foreign investments in the garment and textile industries, she observed.
