Keeping "Digital Bangladesh" and "Vision 2021" in view, the observance of WTISD-09 and to create mass awareness of ICT a colorful Road Show organized by BTRC started today (Sunday 10 May 2009) in Chittagong.
The Road Show started at 11.00 AM from the focal point of Chitta gong GEC More. It will continue till 16 May 2009.
With the presence of important personalities of Chittagong, higher authority of BTRC and event management partner Splash Group the Road Show kicks off. Before the beginning with due respect to the departed sole of the husband of Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina eminent scientist Dr. Wazed Miah, the audience kept silent for one minute. The Road show started with a truck on it few models were presenting the theme song and creates awareness among people of different groups of the concern.
The theme of this year is "Protecting children in cyberspace". To popularize the concept, building the awareness and to ensure youth participation, Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) and Splash Group has chalked out an elaborate program for two days (17 - J 8 May '09) to observe this event. The purpose of this event is to encourage the citizen of Bangladesh to contribute in building ICT based nation. The idea is to connect the unconnected and bridge the gap between lighted and unlighted in the field of leT knowledge. The two day long event will held at the Engineering Institute of Chittagong.
151 day of the Road Show was observed with an enthusiastic participation of the general people. Journalists of local and national print media were present at the occasion. The Managing Director of Splash Group, Rezwan Mahbub, Marketing Manager SB Lavlu, and Chittagong correspondent Abdur Rahim were also present at the event. The 7 day long Road Show will be observed in different schools college and universities of Chitta going.
Only Students of any organization of our country can participate in the Essay and School Quiz Competition on "ICT Knowledge Base".
The last date of submission to join the essay Competition is 28 April and 30th April for Illustration Competition on Digital Bangladesh. Students of 30 schools of Chittagong will be participating at School Quiz Competition. Beside this, including the Association of Mobile phone operators of Bangladesh 20 Internet service provider will attend at the exhibition based on ICT at 17 th may at Chittagong.
The selected essays and the illustrations will be published in the journal being issued on the eve of WITSD-2009. Winners will be informed through e-mail / telephone by J 0 May, 2009. They will need to attend the prize giving ceremony held on 18th May 2009 in IE8, Chittagong.
