The roleThe Senior Officer-Implementation will have the responsibility for guiding the partner NGO for the Urban Resilience Project. In this capacity, s/he will directly contribute in planning, implementation, and monitoring of urban DRR activities and support fellow Save the Children staff and coordinators of partner NGOs for successful implementation of activities. S/he needs to work with children, women, communities and partners to identify urban risks; ensure that they are prepared to deal with these risks and changes; coordinate with local government agencies and other stakeholders. S/he will also support them in developing their risk reduction plan; increase the level of analysis and preparedness for adaptation and mitigation at local and country level in order to determine the role Save the Children Bangladesh. The Senior Officer will play a key role in the area of resilience; develop and extend Save the Children’s capacity to enter into strategic alliances with ot her agencies and governmental entities. S/he is also accountable for the project budget and compile progress reports for donor.Qualifications and experience* At least 4 years’ experience of working in the areas of risk reduction, preferably in urban risk reduction/climate change adaptation projects* Excellent written communications including report writing* Strong partnership management skills* Financial/budget management skills* Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, email, internet* Motivated, committed, responsible, able to work independently with limited direct supervision.* Training/capacity building skills* Ability to work in a team with flexibility to undertake challenging task and adapt to different working conditions.* Master’s Degree, preferably in Social Sciences/DRM/Development Studies/Agriculture or related disciplineContract length: RegularJob Location: Dhaka and NarayanganjNumber of vacancy: 2 (Two)The OrganisationWe employ approximately 25,000 people across the globe and work on the ground in over 100 countries to help children affected by crises, or those that need better healthcare, education and child protection.
